Tutor: doc. Dr. Ing. Gabriela Achtenová

st_programy/MAE/MAE_01.jpgPThe first two semesters of this multidisciplinary programme which includes construction of engine vehicles, technology of production and its specifics for vehicles, marketing and management are taught at one of the following universities:

  • CTU in Prague (in English)
  • ENSTA Bretagne (in French)
  • TU Chemnitz (in German)
  • IT Bandung (in English)

Those who choose to study their first year at CTU in Prague will be provided with an intense classes of French with native speakers at Cultural institute at French Embassy in Prague. German classes might be alternatively provided by native speakers as well. Students may also choose to study any of the languages taught by the Department of Foreign Languages at the faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

The second year students choose one of the specializations at the partner universities in France, Netherlands, Germany and CTU in Prague.

1. Vehicle Dynamics and Clean Driveline Control Systems

This programme is taught in English at the partner university HAN in Arnhem, Netherlands. The graduates gain deep knowledge in vehicle dynamics and design control algorithms of electro-mechanical vehicle systems. The necessary knowledge is also deepened in the fields of economics, management and computer-aided engineering disciplines. The programme also includes guided practice during which the student works on his/her diploma thesis.

2. Architecture des véhicules / Construction of Vehicles

This programme is taught in French at the partner university ENSTA Bretagne in Brest, France. The programme further deepens the fundamental theoretical disciplines necessary to understand functions and construction of vehicle aggregates as e.g. thermomechanics, fluids mechanics, mechanics of rigid and deformable bodies and electronics. The necessary knowledge is also deepened in the fields of economics, management and computer aided engineer disciplines. The programme also includes guided practice during which the student works on his/her diploma thesis.

3. Calculs et Modélisation / Calculations and Modelling

This programme is taught in French at the partner university ENSTA Bretagne in Brest, France. The graduates gained deep knowledge in simulation and simulation using finite elements focusing on motor vehicles. The theoretical foundations of mathematics have been appropriately extended. The necessary knowledge is also deepened in the fields of economics, management and computer aided engineer disciplines. The programme also includes guided practice during which the student works on his/her diploma thesis.

4. Advanced Powertrains

This programme is taught in English at CTU in Prague. The graduates gain deep knowledge in construction of combustion engines. The students will be given detail information about simulation of combustion engine circulation. The programme provides detailed information about filling and cooling and combustion engines accessories. Students learn the examples in the lab and project classes. The programme also includes guided practice during which the student works on his/her diploma thesis.

5. Fuel Cell Drives

This programme is taught in German at Technical University in Chemnitz in Germany. The graduates gain deep knowledge in electronic drives of vehicles, fuel cells, accumulators, electro engines and electric transformers. Students learn the examples in the lab classes. The programme also includes guided practice during which the student works on his/her diploma thesis.

Graduate's profile

Graduates of the programme are trained in construction of motor vehicles and their gear on the level necessary to carry out independent research and development of vehicles as well as leading such research. The programme deepens student's fundamental knowledge of disciplines necessary for understanding the function and structure of aggregates of vehicles such as thermomechanics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of rigid and deformable bodies, manufacturing technology and electronics. The graduate is therefore able to immediately engage in projects in development and construction departments of car manufacturers, design offices and they can as well start teaching at vocational schools anywhere in the world. The students are accepted to this study programme upon graduation of bachelor's programme.
