Categorization of road dust
Road dust occurring in a particular country and place must be classified into one of four categories according to ISO 12103-1. The classification affects the choice of air filter in the vehicle's air intake system. ISO 12103-1 specifies the appropriate methods for categorization. These methods have been validated on dust calibration samples and lessons have been learned to refine them, including the use of more modern instrumentation. Other simpler methods suitable for use in direct test circuit measurements have also been proposed and tested.
At the same time, as a service facility, we will also compile measurements and evaluations of measurements made by Skoda Auto personnel on test tracks in Spain, the U.S.A., Russia and India.
Approximately 6 reports have been produced, one publication is ready to be sent to Powder Technology and two more articles are in progress. one diploma thesis has also been prepared and received the highest award of the VW group.
Ensuring the modification of the intake system of hybrid cars to meet the GILSCH test. The test focuses on the separation of droplets generated by the previous car on wet roads. The reasons for the failure of the test were investigated and a new element for the separation of droplets, which can be easily fixed in the intake system, was developed.
Explanation of the phenomena that occur when a car enters water, e.g., a ford, as a result of a water hammer.
