Between 5 and 9 October 2025, a research team from the Department of Manufacturing Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, led by Miroslav Sahul, Ph.D., visited their partner institution at the University of Split.
The mobility took place within the framework of project No. 8X25015 Electron Beam Weldability and Properties of 316LSi Stainless Steel Printed with Laser Metal Deposition. This is a modern method of metal 3D printing based on laser cladding technology.
The project is supported under the Danube Strategy Programme and funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
The CTU research team also included Ph.D. students Ing. Tomáš Gurčík, Ing. Tomáš Němec, and Ing. Jakub Karmáček. At the University of Split, the group was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Jure Krolo and Prof. Ladislav Vrsalović from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and the Faculty of Chemistry and Technology.
The stainless-steel components produced during the project are subsequently analyzed for their corrosion properties at the University of Split.
