History

The history of the department of Management and Economics is closely associated with the establishment of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Faculty of Economics and Engineering was founded in 1952. In 1954 it was thanks to prof. dr. Ing. Frantisek Brabec, PhD. established a separate Department of Economics, organization and planning of engineering companies. The Faculty of Economics and Engineering was dissolved in 1960 and were created departments of Economics and Management at the faculties of Czech Technical University in Prague. In 2003, the department focused on economics and management was transformed into the Department of Economics and Management. At the same time, there has been extensive reconstruction and modernization of the premises. In 2011, the Department was moved from the premises in Albert to the newly reconstructed ones in Karlovo Náměstí.
